By-elections for nine UP seats

By-elections will be held in nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning. There is a direct competition between Yogi and Akhilesh for these seats. This election is considered the semi-final of the upcoming assembly elections. Both the BJP and the SP have put all their efforts in the by-elections, because the by-elections in these seats have become a credibility battle for both the parties. These by-elections in UP are the semi-finals of 2027, which will decide the path to the throne of power in UP. This election will prove to be a litmus test for UP as to who will be the next CM, Yogi Adityanath or Akhilesh Yadav.

Direct contest between CM Yogi and Akhilesh

Yogi Adityanath’s Bantenge to Katenge slogan that is resonating today in the Maharashtra elections, which started in UP and is being used in Haryana, Jharkhand and then also in Maharashtra. At the same time, this battle is also about Akhilesh Yadav’s PDA ticket, on the basis of which Akhilesh Yadav won more seats than the BJP in UP in the Lok Sabha elections. In these by-elections, there is a contest between 90 candidates for nine seats and in the nine seats there is a triangular contest between BJP-SP and BSP, but the direct contest is only between BJP and SP.

Which party has given entry to whom?

If we talk about 2022 elections in these nine seats, then Samajwadi Party has 4 seats, NDA has 5 seats, BJP has three seats and allies have two seats. While Akhilesh has played the Muslim card in ticket distribution, the BJP has gone for the OBCs. The BJP has fielded a maximum of five OBC candidates, while one is Dalit and three belong to upper castes. The BJP has not given any ticket to Muslim. While the Samajwadi Party has fielded a maximum of 4 Muslim candidates. Apart from this, there are 3 OBC candidates, 2 Dalit candidates, while not a single ticket has been given to the upper caste.

Now voters have to decide who they will trust this time, who they will make win and who they will make them taste defeat.
