Farmer organizations have quickly started defending their demands at the Khanauri border.
Update on Punjab Farmers Protest (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: The fast to death of the peasant organizations has begun in relation to their demands. Jagjit Singh Dallewal was going to start this quickly, but the police picked him up from his shop on Monday night. After this, leaders of many farmers’ organizations reached the Khanauri border on Tuesday and the atmosphere was very heated. Meanwhile, farmer leader Sukhjit Singh Hardojhanda has fasted unto death. Thousands of men and women reached the Khanauri border and also held a march against the government. The peasant organizations have given a 10-day ultimatum to the central government; if their demands are not met, they will intensify the movement.
He will travel to Delhi on December 6.
Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said if the government does not take any decision, farmers will march in groups to the Shambhu border on December 6. Pandher condemned the police action. He said the police broke the fiber door and entered the shed where Dallewal was sleeping. From there he was arrested. Not even the wearing of turbans, shoes and warm clothing was allowed. Such misconduct with an elderly and senior agricultural leader is wrong. He said governments want to end the movement, but they will not allow these conspiracies to succeed. He demanded Dallewal’s early release.
