Prayagraj. Candidates in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting against the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for the past four days. Today the police began to forcibly remove the protesting students outside the Commission. On this occasion a large number of police officers are present and tension continues between the police and the students at the protest site. The police have taken many of their students to the police station. Student leader Ashutosh Pandey is also included in this.
A tense situation reigns in the place. More barricades have been raised around the protest site, but students have also broken police barricades. Apart from this, the police have sealed the protest site in front of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission in Prayagraj from three sides so that no one can enter. According to information received from the police, some external elements have entered the student movement. In such a situation, the police arrested three or four people from these external elements. The students are protesting in front of the commission.
Prayagraj Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, Commission Secretary Ashok Kumar and some other officials reached Gate Number Two of the Public Service Commission last night to talk to the students. The DM tried to convince the students for about half an hour, but still got nowhere.
Earlier Tuesday, students protested the commission by banging plates. Apart from this, on the main door of the Commission was also written in black “Loot Service Commission”. On Tuesday night, the protesting students lit candles and mobile torches and raised slogans against the Commission and the Government. On Wednesday, some students were seen holding posters of the Commission chairman and raising slogans to declare him missing and give a reward of one rupee to the person who finds him.
The UP Public Service Commission has decided to conduct the PCS Prelims 2024 and RO/ARO Prelims 2023 exams in two days, in two shifts. More than 20 thousand competitive students are protesting in front of the Public Service Commission in Prayagraj, UP, since Monday against this decision of the Commission.
