Gangotri temple doors closed

Every year, before the arrival of winter, the gates of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri located in the Himalayas are closed. After the gates are closed, no devotee comes here for darshan until the entire winter. The gates of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri located in the Garhwal Himalayas will be opened for devotees next year after being closed before the onset of winter.

More than eight lakh devotees had come to the Gangotri temple for darshan. Devotees from all over come to Uttarkashi to have darshan of Goddess Gangotri.
