Team India’s grip tightens in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In this match played at the Optus Stadium in Perth, the Indian team made a strong comeback in the second inning, leaving behind the failure of the first inning. With the help of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s brilliant century and KL Rahul’s solid half-century, team India has gained a strong lead over Australia. Amid all this, star batsman Virat Kohli was also seen gaining momentum in the second innings and proof of this was his shot that injured the security guard who was sitting near the boundary.

On Sunday, November 24, the third day of the match, Team India proceeded with its second innings. There was a 200-run partnership between Jaiswal and Rahul, after which Devdutt Padikkal also supported Jaiswal for some time. Josh Hazlewood then took the wicket of Padikkal on the first ball of the second session. Here came Virat Kohli, who was out after scoring only 5 runs in the first innings.

Virat’s Dangerous Six

This was an important innings for Virat, so he also batted cautiously. However, Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel were ahead of Virat after which he took charge of the innings along with Washington Sundar. When Virat was positioned at the crease, he played a top cut on a short bowled ball from fast bowler Mitchell Starc. The ball came straight out of the third man boundary for 6 runs but here a little accident happened.

Near the edge there was a security guard who was not watching the game but watching the spectators. He didn’t see the ball coming and after hitting the boundary, the ball bounced and hit him in the back of the head. Everyone was scared after seeing this scene. Virat Kohli also seemed worried after seeing this. The medical team immediately approached the guard and examined him. The relief issue was that the speed of the ball had reduced after hitting the boundary pad, so it didn’t hit the head too hard.

He marked half a century, wrote the name with Sachin.

During this innings, Virat also completed a half-century, which is only his second half-century in Test this year. He also achieved a special milestone. The former Indian captain has completed his 2000 runs in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Kohli has achieved this feat in his 44th innings and has become the fifth Indian batsman to do so. Before him, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Cheteshwar Pujara had achieved this feat. Sachin still has the record of 3262 runs to his name.
