Very low visibility in Delhi

The situation is very bad due to pollution in Delhi. The AQI of many areas of the capital is still above 300-400. Suddenly the cold increased and fog began to appear in the sky, after which visibility was considerably reduced. Even on Tuesday morning there was fog in the sky, so many flights were cancelled. Along with this, many trains passing through Delhi or coming from Delhi were also cancelled.

Not only this, due to poor visibility many trains and flights have also been delayed. At least 22 trains were delayed and 8 flights were diverted on Tuesday morning. The AQI crossed 500 in Delhi on Tuesday morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert due to dense fog for the second consecutive day.

28 trains delayed and 24 cancelled.

Apart from this, according to IRCTC on Monday, November 18, till 6 am, 28 passenger trains bound for Delhi were late to their scheduled time. These included many trains running to Delhi from North Haridwar, Dehradun, Kashmir, Lucknow, Shimla, Mumbai, Madgaon, Indore, Amritsar. On Monday, 24 passenger trains were also canceled. These also included trains running to Delhi from different places in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Seeing the impact on flights due to fog in Delhi, Amritsar and Chandigarh, Indigo Airlines tweeted: “Travel conditions are being affected due to fog in Delhi, Amritsar and Chandigarh, including slow flight.” Includes possible changes to traffic and flights. Appealing further, he wrote: “Make your plan accordingly and stay updated with the flight status for the correct journey.”

Schools closed in Delhi

In view of the increasing pollution in Delhi, as per the order of the Supreme Court, all schools have been closed and online classes have been started. However, students in grades 10 and 12 are allowed to go to school, and masks will be provided to them. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said the Delhi government is taking all necessary measures.
