By-elections were held yesterday in Devli Uniara assembly seat in Rajasthan. During this time, independent candidate Naresh Meena, who was contesting the elections as a Congress rebel, slapped SDM Amit Chaudhary. Naresh Meena had absconded after this slap incident. The police were busy searching for him. Meanwhile, police reached Deoli Uniara town on Wednesday night to arrest Naresh Meena. Here Naresh Meena’s supporters became enraged and started pelting stones, setting fires and vandalism.
The RAS Association declared a hardship strike
Not only this, Naresh Meena also escaped from police custody. The echo of the slap given to the SDM was heard all the way to the capital, Jaipur. The RAS Association announced an editorial strike. In support of the RAS officers, along with ministerial employees, village development officers union, tehsildar union, Kanungo, employees union, sarpanch union also announced their support for the strike.
Memorandum presented to Barmer collector Tina Dabi
During this, all the organizations along with RAS officials submitted a memorandum to the district collector on behalf of the Chief Minister and demanded strictest action against the accused Naresh Meena. In Barmer too, officials and employees under the leadership of ADM Rajendra Singh submitted a memorandum to district collector Tina Dabi and sought support from the IAS Association. Regarding this, collector Tina Dabi said that we are all with you. The IAS Association has also supported it.
