The court has upheld the constitutional validity of the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act, 2004. The CJI stated that all the provisions of the UP Madarsa Act do not violate the principle of secularism.
The bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra took this important decision. This decision has been welcomed by Muslim religious leaders. Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind president Maulana Mahmood Madani has expressed his happiness over this decision of the court. He also called this decision a victory for justice and said that the Supreme Court’s ‘Live and let live’ comment has an important message.

He also said that, for some time, many decisions of this type came from lower courts in which partiality was evident; Today the Supreme Court has guaranteed the protection of constitutional principles by rejecting those decisions.
Maulana Madani said that this decision has sent a message of justice to the country. Especially today when Muslims feel isolated and marginalized. He said that today, with the way communal forces and many ministers in power are openly appealing to violence and attacking the existence of madrassas, this decision of the Supreme Court is an important message. Maulana Madani also appreciated the efforts of the UP Madrasa Teachers’ Association, which played an important role in making this decision possible by fighting its battle successfully.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, senior member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said regarding this decision, it is obvious that how can a law enacted by the government itself be unconstitutional. However, thousands of people are associated with these madrasas and have received great relief with the Supreme Court’s decision. “Now we can continue managing our madrassas with complete freedom.”
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind legal advisor Maulana Kaab Rashidi said the Supreme Court upheld the Madrassa Education Board Act while protecting the spirit of the Constitution. This is a very big message.

All India Shia Personal Law Board spokesperson Maulana Yasoob Abbas also expressed happiness over the Supreme Court’s decision regarding the Madrasa Act. He said, “The way the Supreme Court has justified and justified the Madrasa Act. We welcome you. Madrassas have played an important role in the country’s independence. Madrassas have given us many IAS, IPS, ministers and governors. It is wrong to look at madrassas with suspicion.”
What decision did the court give?
The Supreme Court gave its verdict on the UP Madrasa Act. On Tuesday, the court upheld the validity of the ‘Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act’, 2004 and said that this law does not violate the principle of secularism. The court rejected the Allahabad High Court’s order striking down this law and asking the state to enroll the students in another school.
