Arjun Kapoor has been in the news ever since the release of ‘Singham Again’. The actor’s performance was highly praised. He entertained the audience in the role of Danger Lanka. Negative characters suited him well and he even dismissed the main stars. No one could resist him. Now, after the success of the film, Arjun Kapoor has made a big revelation related to his personal life, which will surprise you. The actor said that he is going through mild depression and suffers from Hashimoto’s disease. He told in detail how he spent two years fighting this disease and how he is coping with it.

Actor suffering from depression.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Arjun Kapoor was talking about his new Rohit Shetty film ‘Singham Again’ when he revealed that he was suffering from mild depression while filming the action film. The actor revealed that he sought therapy to deal with mental issues after his recent films did not do well at the box office, adding that “being a fat kid caused him a lot of mental trauma.”

The actor had to take therapy.

While speaking in this episode, Arjun said, ‘I started taking therapy. The depression and therapy part started last year. I didn’t know if I was depressed or not, I knew something wasn’t right, my life was on film and now all of a sudden I was looking at other people’s work and thinking, ‘Will I be able to do this or will I be able to?’ Do I have a chance? I have never been a bitter or negative person, but this started to grow inside me in a very strange way. I started therapy and went to a few therapists, but to no avail. Then I felt confused again. Then I found someone who really let me talk. He described me as suffering from mild depression at the time, which is very appropriate for the circumstances.

The weight suddenly begins to increase.

In the same interview, Arjun also talked about how he “always” faces some physical and health-related struggle. Arjun said: ‘I haven’t always talked openly about it, but I also have Hashimoto’s disease, which is an extension of the thyroid (autoimmune disease that damages the thyroid gland). It’s almost as if I gained weight because I couldn’t take flights, because it increased mental stress. This happens due to increased anxiety. Your body is in flight or fight mode. This (Hashimoto’s disease) happened when I was 30 and I resisted and said, ‘No, this can’t be happening.’ My mother (Mona Shourie Kapoor) had this disease and my sister (Anshula Kapoor) also has this disease… If I look back today, I can see myself and my body changing through my films Am. In the year 2015- 16, I suffered from that physical trauma for seven or eight years and then my films were also not shown at the same time.
