ranchi: Intense campaigning is underway for the assembly elections in Jharkhand. While on one hand, various political parties are busy campaigning, on the other, voters are also coming out of their homes to vote with full enthusiasm. Voting will be held in Jharkhand in two phases, one of which has already been completed. At the same time, the Electoral Commission stated after the first phase of voting that during this period women voted more than men. According to the Election Commission, in the first phase the number of women voters was greater than that of men. Women voted more in 37 of the state’s 43 seats.
In the first phase, 66.65 percent voted
The Electoral Commission reported that in the first phase of voting held on November 13, 66.65 percent of the votes were obtained. In the first phase, the voting for these 43 seats was 2.75 per cent more than the voting recorded in the 2019 assembly elections. Apart from this, the Election Commission said in a statement: “Women voters participated with enthusiasm, they voted 4.8 percent more than men, which reinforced their growing participation in shaping the democratic process.”

The Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand has confirmed that all electoral parties have returned safely and the counting has been completed in the presence of the candidates or their authorized agents. Final figures will be available after the postal votes are counted. Postal ballots also include on-duty voters, absentee voters (voters over 85 years of age), disabled persons, voters deployed in essential services, and voters deployed on electoral duty. The election official said that in accordance with the established guidelines, daily details of ballots received by mail are provided to all candidates.
The first phase of voting took place on November 13.
