There is already a crisis in Delhi due to air pollution; Now before Chhath, the pollution level of Yamuna river has also reached dangerous level and this pollution is increasing continuously. Due to the large amount of ammonia in the water, a sheet of white foam floats on the water.
Poisonous foam was again seen in the Yamuna river in Kalindi Kunj on Friday. Thick layers of white foam have accumulated on the surface of the river, making the coastal areas of Yamuna look like snow in the white foam. However, the Delhi government is trying its best to remove the foam.
BJP held AAP and Kejriwal responsible
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawala reached Kalindi Kunj early in the morning and attacked the Kejriwal government. Shahzad said, ‘The next day after Diwali, when we reached here at Yamuna Ghat, we saw a thick white layer in the river. The reason behind this foam here (in the river) is the corruption committed by Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. Now, before Chhath Puja, they are spraying chemical defoamers… The reason for this is that in the last 10 years, Rs 7,000 crore was donated to clean the Yamuna river, which was consumed by Arvind Kejriwal in corruption.
Shahzad said, ‘Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for turning Delhi into a gas chamber; We have to wear masks, they blame UP but forget about stubble burning in Punjab. Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for playing with women’s health during Chhath Puja. They turned Delhi into a gas chamber… They blame Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, but today they have greatly contaminated the water of the Yamuna river. If you breathe, your lungs will be damaged and if you drink water, your stomach will be damaged.
