These days there is a storm of heated statements in Madhya Pradesh politics. The firecracker controversy in Indore during Diwali not only affected communal harmony but also ushered in a new phase of political rhetoric. From Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya and Congress state president Jitu Patwari, all have made harsh statements against each other. Political analysts consider these statements under the ‘Yogi Effect’, because the influence of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is clearly visible in his style.
CM Yadav’s harsh statement
Speaking to the media about the firecrackers controversy after Diwali, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “Let the firecrackers explode, every sound will hit the enemy like a gunshot. We do not scare anyone, but let no one scare us “We will not accept Hindus never make fun of anyone, but if anyone makes fun of Hindus, we will not forgive them.” This statement by the Chief Minister became a matter of controversy and later other BJP leaders also came out openly.
Kailash Vijayvargiya’s “Yogi Style” Statement
Following this, senior BJP leader and Indore MLA Kailash Vijayvargiya also made a statement. Vijayvargiya said, “The administration is active, they will take action and if the right face is not identified, then I will also see who is spreading peace in Indore. If I get him, I will hang him upside down and roam around the city if we feel we should also get involved.” “If so, we will not back down.” This statement from Vijayvargiya was even more blunt, in which he declared himself ahead of the administration.
Response from Congress state president Jitu Patwari
Reacting to all this, state Congress president Jitu Patwari termed Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s statement as the language of a “little leader”. Patwari said, “The Chief Minister’s statement is like that of petty leaders, which the ruling leaders cannot give. This statement does not suit the Chief Minister of the state.”
Cabinet Minister on Jitu Patwari’s statement
After this statement by Jitu Patwari, there was also a strong reaction from the BJP. Madhya Pradesh government cabinet minister Vishwas Sarang expressed displeasure over Patwari’s statement and said, “Jitu Patwari should apologize. This statement will not be tolerated.”
