Young man was victim of fraud of lakhs
A different level of fraud is occurring on social media. The woman, along with her associates, defrauded a person of Rs 25 lakh in the name of an ‘online’ investment. The police gave this information on Tuesday.

According to the police, an FIR was registered in the matter after the victim’s complaint was received on the ‘online portal’. Police said the complainant, a resident of Bhajanpura in northeast Delhi, said he had met a girl on a social media platform on August 8.
This is how a fraud story was created
The complainant said in the FIR: ‘The woman told me that she had lost her parents in an accident. He lived with his uncle and aunt in Calcutta. He said that he has made money by investing in various ‘online’ platforms.
Initially he invested 22 thousand rupees.
According to the FIR, initially the complainant invested Rs 22,000 and after two days he earned Rs 52,000, which boosted his confidence. The victim said, “They added me to various groups on social media and asked me to invest a huge amount for better returns.” I invested Rs 25 lakh in various transactions, but when I tried to withdraw the entire amount, I was denied.

Police said that after this, the girl and other members of the group began ignoring their messages and stopped answering their phones. A police officer said an FIR has been registered and the matter is being investigated. The officer said a team has been formed to investigate the matter and arrest the accused.
