The ice on India-China relations has started to melt. A clear example of this was seen today at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), where Indian and Chinese soldiers gifted each other sweets on the occasion of Diwali.
These images come at a time when both countries have successfully completed the disengagement process in the Demchok and Depsang plains, two sensitive spots in eastern Ladakh. The emergence of such photographs on the occasion of Diwali is considered an important achievement from a diplomatic point of view. According to the report, sweets were exchanged at the border meeting point between Chushul and Moldo.
On Wednesday, an army source said that soldiers from both sides have completed the disengagement process at the aforementioned points, so patrol operations can begin soon. Following disengagement, a verification process is underway in which patrol methods will be agreed with local ground commanders. According to the source, talks will continue at the level of local commanders.
