Diwali was celebrated with pomp and show at the Swaminarayan Akshardham temple in Delhi on Thursday. A large number of devotees from all over the country and abroad were present on this occasion. In the presence of the most revered Swayamprakash Swami (Doctor Swami), a day before Diwali, a special worship of Lord Hanuman was performed on Chaturdashi. It is believed that on this day people worship Lord Hanuman and Maa Kali and pray to remove negative energy.

With the inspiration of Guru Mahant Swami Maharaj, the special worship of Hanuman ji at Akshardham was completed with the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa. Doctor Swami Senior Sadguru Saint Pujya present on this occasion asked all Hari devotees to take inspiration from the life of Hanuman ji.

On the occasion of Diwali, Bahipujan was organized from ten to twelve in the morning. In which a large number of Hari devotees along with their followers participated in this worship ritual in the temple auditorium. On this occasion, the saints worshiped Goddess Saraswati and Lakshmi ji with recitation of Vedic mantras, thus the entire atmosphere became devotional.

In the year 2005, this festival of Diwali and Annakoot was celebrated for the first time in Akshardham, Delhi in the presence of Pramukh Swami Maharaj. Since then, he has been continuously inspiring people by lighting the lamp of divine qualities such as religion, devotion, knowledge and renunciation in the hearts of people.

On this occasion, the temple was decorated with various types of flowers and arches, in which Hari devotees, especially the male and female volunteers, had a special contribution. Their preparations had begun about two weeks in advance. The volunteers illuminated the entire temple complex with lamp lights. All the Hari devotees who participated in the festival enjoyed it very much.

On this occasion, revered Doctor Swamiji blessed the people and said, ‘May this festival of Diwali bring peace and prosperity in the lives of everyone. May everyone be happy with body, mind and wealth. The celebration of Diwali is a festival of light, may the light of knowledge shine in the lives of all of us and the darkness of ignorance be destroyed. Along with this, Dr. Swami ji paid tribute to Sardar Patel on his birthday.
