The festival of happiness Diwali turned into an eclipse for a couple. The husband and wife brought firecrackers and gas cylinders to celebrate Diwali, but the husband died when the cylinder exploded. His wife was seriously injured. The injured woman was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. The woman is receiving treatment in the hospital, still fighting between life and death.
Surendra, a resident of Sisamau area of Kanpur, along with his wife had gone to the market on a moped on Thursday to buy some goods for Diwali. When he returned, he had a small gas cylinder and some firecrackers in his hand. As soon as Surendra reached near the house, a cylinder exploded outside the house, killing Surendra.
As soon as people heard the sound of explosion, they reached the spot and somehow took Surendra’s wife to the hospital. Surendra’s wife is still fighting between life and death. Immediately after receiving information about the explosion, the police team reached the spot and started investigation. The explosion was so strong that Surendra’s moped was completely destroyed and vehicles parked nearby were also damaged.
DCP Dinesh Tripathi said the news of gas cylinder explosion is just coming to light. Investigations are being carried out at different points. Surendra has died and his wife is undergoing treatment. How such a cylinder exploded is also being investigated. Getting information about the incident, BJP candidate Suresh Awasthi and SP MLA Amitabh Bajpai also reached the spot.
The police believe that the problem of spontaneous explosion of the cylinder has now come to light. Although it was a small gas cylinder. It is also being investigated whether the intensity of the explosion increased due to the presence of firecrackers together. Due to which Surendra lost his life. The explosion was so strong that one of the deceased’s hands was blown away. The bicycle parked nearby was also damaged.
