There is news of relief for the SSC i.e. 10th class students who are mentally struggling with Mathematics and Science. The Maharashtra government has decided to reduce the minimum passing grade in these subjects in its new school curriculum from the current 35. However, there is a problem: these students will be marked as “Pass” on their grade sheet and a special note will be made indicating that they cannot study further Math or Science.

After subtracting 35, this is done.

The state government has decided to reduce the minimum passing mark in Mathematics and Science for Class 10 students to 20 out of 100, from 35 earlier. The move is aimed at helping students who aspire to pursue humanities and arts subjects. and that they might have to drop out if they fail in the tenth grade.

It will not be implemented this year.

According to TOI, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education chairman Sharad Gosavi said the change in passing marks will not be implemented from this year. “This will come into effect when the new curriculum is implemented across the state,” Gosavi said.

part of the new curriculum

State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) director Rahul Rekhawar said the change is part of the new curriculum already approved by the school education department. He said: “Failing in Mathematics or Science and failing in SSC (10th) often leaves students without the opportunity to continue their education, even if their grades are elsewhere. This change has been made to ensure that “students “They are not unfairly excluded from the system and can still fulfill their educational and professional aspirations.”

Rekhawar said that if the student wishes, he can also take the supplementary exam and regular exam next year, pass the subjects and get new marks. “This is just an additional facility that we are adding to the existing facilities.”
