Kolkata Knight Riders have announced the retained players for IPL 2025. KKR has retained 6 players. The big news is that KKR did not retain their captain Shreyas Iyer. The team became champions under the captaincy of this player and now he is out of the team. KKR took a surprising decision and retained Rinku Singh first and also got the highest amount. Apart from them, two young Indian cricketers have also been signed.
Players retained for KKR
KKR has retained 6 players, of which Rinku Singh received the highest amount of Rs 13 crore. Rinku Singh was playing for KKR for very less money for the last few years but now his luck has improved. Apart from Rinku, KKR has roped in Varun Chakraborty for Rs 12 crore. KKR has roped in Sunil Narine for Rs 12 crore. Andre Russell was also signed for Rs 12 crore. There were earlier reports that Russell would not be retained, but at the last moment KKR changed the game. Apart from these, KKR has signed fast bowler Harshit Rana for Rs 4 crore. This player has been selected in the Indian team for the tour of Australia. Also brought in for Rs 4 crore was all-rounder Ramandeep Singh, who bagged a place in the Indian team for the tour of South Africa.

KKR excluded many big players
KKR has excluded players like Mitchell Starc, Nitish Rana and Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Venkatesh Iyer was also not in the KKR team. These players were an important part of the KKR team last season. Venkatesh Iyer had batted amazingly in the playoffs.
