Major Violation of Firecracker Ban in Delhi, Fireworks Spoil Air on Diwali – Delhi Air Pollution After Diwali Celebration Supreme Court NTC Firecracker Ban Violation

There are many fireworks in Delhi on the occasion of Diwali. Large-scale firecracker explosions have occurred. Because of this, the weather in the capital has become very serious. The situation is that the PM 2.5 level has reached 900. This is a very shocking figure, because it is 15 times more than the acceptable limit. According to the Supreme Court order, it is prohibited to use firecrackers during festivals, but the situation has worsened again due to burning of firecrackers.

At 8 pm on Diwali night, heavy pollution was recorded at stations like RK Puram and Jahangir Puri; However, the data transmission suddenly stopped after 9:00 p.m. Meanwhile, PM 2.5 level was recorded between 850 and 900 till 10 pm in Nehru Nagar, Patparganj, Ashok Vihar and Okhla. However, the PM 2.5 level of 60 micrograms per cubic meter is considered safe and is currently several times higher in Delhi.

The air is also poor in other areas of Delhi.

Elsewhere in the city, pollution levels in Wazirpur, Pusa and Vivek Vihar were recorded at 603, 601 and 677 micrograms per cubic meter respectively, 11 times higher than the standard limit. Similarly, around 500 micrograms per cubic meter were recorded at the Dwarka and Jawaharlal Nehru stadiums, eight times the safe level.

Air pollution is harmful to health.

Severe air quality poses a health threat and causes respiratory and other health problems in people. However, there is room for improvement in conditions due to the weather, where the wind is blowing at a speed of 12 km per hour, which is expected to remain in the range of 12 km per hour to 16 km per hour the next day. . This can slightly reduce the level of contamination.

Preparations were made to stop fireworks in Delhi.

On Diwali night, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced that 377 teams had been formed to enforce the ban on firecrackers in the capital. He said officials are talking to the Resident Welfare Association, Market Association and social organizations to create awareness. He said teams have been formed to ensure that firecrackers do not explode.

“Legal action will be taken against those found bursting firecrackers. They may also be prosecuted under relevant sections of the BNS (Indian Justice Code) for violating government orders,” an official said on Diwali night.

For example, worsening weather, vehicular smoke, burning of rice straw and firecrackers and other local sources of pollution combine to turn Delhi into a gas chamber during the winter season. According to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, following increasing incidents of stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana, pollution peaked in the capital from November 1 to 15.
