The tension between Russia and Ukraine does not end. Meanwhile, the United States has claimed that around 8,000 North Korean troops are now present in Russia’s Kursk region, near the border with Ukraine. It has also been claimed that these soldiers are preparing to help Russia in the war with Ukraine.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed on Thursday that about 10,000 North Korean troops are currently in Russia and about 8,000 of them are deployed in Russia’s Kursk region. He also said that he fears that in the coming days Russia could use these soldiers in the war against Ukraine.
The United States made a big claim
US Secretary of State Blinken said: We now fear that there are a total of about 10,000 North Korean troops in Russia and recent information shows that about 8,000 of them have been deployed to Kursk. He further said that we have not yet seen these troops deployed against Ukrainian troops, but we expect that to happen in the coming days.
US Secretary of State Blinken said: Russia is training North Korean soldiers in many things. For example, it is providing training in the use of artillery, drones and infantry operations, clearly demonstrating that it fully intends to use these forces in frontline operations. Blinken also said that with the deployment of troops to Korea, this is the first time in 100 years that Russia has invited foreign troops to its country.
Russia did not give any answer to this question.
On the one hand, the United States Secretary of State has stated that there are Korean soldiers in Russia. At the same time, during the UN Security Council meeting, US Deputy Ambassador Robert Wood asked Russia a question in this regard. Wood said: “We have just received information that there are currently around 8,000 North Korean troops in Kursk. The US deputy ambassador asked his Russian colleague: Does Russia still maintain that there are no North Korean soldiers in Russia? In response to his question, the Russian representative present at the Council meeting did not give any response and the meeting was adjourned.
