Government publishes helpline number, appeals complaints against black sellers
Punjab News (Aaj Samaj), Chandigarh: Just before wheat sowing, there is shortage of DAP in the state. While on one hand the farmers have made preparations for sowing wheat, on the other hand they are facing problems due to DAP not receiving the necessary chemicals for sowing. The government has also accepted that there is a shortage of DAP in the state.
Recently, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann met Union Minister for Fertilizers and Chemicals JP Nadda and requested that required quantity of DAP be provided to Punjab. On the other hand, amid reports of black marketing of stocks in the state, the state government has issued a helpline number. About which any farmer can complain about the person who has done black marketing of DAP or other essential chemicals.

Farmers can also report issues such as charging higher fees than the actual price of DAP fertilizer, illegal hoarding or black marketing on these figures. Sharing information in this regard, Punjab Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Mr. Gurmeet Singh Khudian said that farmers in the state can lodge complaints against pesticide dealers involved in corrupt activities by calling the helpline number 1100. or by sending a WhatsApp message to the contact number +91-98555-01076.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers, he said forcibly selling unnecessary chemicals by labeling them with fertilizers or selling fertilizers at higher prices or black marketing of fertilizers is a legal offense and anyone involved in such wrong actions will be strictly punished. Action will be taken against the person under sections of the Fertilizer Control Order, 1985 and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
