When India’s team for the Border-Gavaskar Test series was announced, Rituraj Gaikwad was not included in it, after which fans created a lot of buzz on social media. Everyone was saying that Gaikwad should have been given a chance in the Test series against Australia as the third match opener, but now the Indian team’s decision to keep Gaikwad out is proving to be correct as Gaikwad seems to be failing continuously on Australian soil. Gaikwad is currently the captain of India A and failed in both innings of the first unofficial Test against his A team in Australia.

Ruturaj Gaikwad also failed in the second innings of the ongoing unofficial first Test in Mackay. Gaikwad could play only 6 balls in the second innings and only 5 runs came off his bat. Gaikwad was dismissed on the first ball of the first innings. Gaikwad does not look comfortable on Australia’s fast, bouncy pitches and this is the reason why his bat is not working.

Abhimanyu didn’t go either.
Not just Gaikwad, Abhimanyu Easwaran, who scored century after century in the Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy, also failed in the first unofficial Test. Easwaran could score only 7 runs in the first innings and this player could only score 12 runs in the second innings. However, in the second innings, Easwaran was the victim of some excellent fielding. Buckingham kicked him out. Incidentally, till the end of the second day of play, Sai Sudarshan and Devdutt Padikkal definitely remained on the field. Sudarshan is unbeaten on 48 runs and Padikkal has scored 38 not out.
