RCP Singh, once close to Nitish, formed a new party

Assembly elections in Bihar will be held next year, but new political parties are coming up one after the other. After Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party, now RCP Singh, who was close to Nitish, also announced the formation of a new party, which has been named ‘Aap Sabki Awaaz’. RCP Singh has also announced that he will field his candidates in 140 of 243 seats in Bihar. In such a situation, the question arises: for whom will RCP Singh become a headache by forming a new party?

RCP Singh, who entered politics under the thumb of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has been a Union Minister and National President of Janata Dal United. Although RCP Singh had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) last year in 2023 after his relations with Nitish deteriorated, he became isolated after political changes in Bihar. Living in the political wilderness for almost two years, he became disillusioned with the BJP and has now announced the formation of his new party.

Party announcement on Patel’s birth anniversary.

RCP Singh chose Diwali and Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary to form his new party. This clearly shows which vote bank RCP Singh has his eyes on. RCP Singh not only hails from Nalanda, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s local constituency, but also hails from the same community, i.e. the Kurmi community.

In such a situation, the RCP seeks to establish itself as the leader of Kurmi along with the Kurmi vote bank. The Kurmi community considers Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as their political messiah. That is why the RCP has also tried to give a political message to the Kurmi community by laying the foundation of its party on the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.

Like Nitish, the RCP is also a Kurmi leader.

The Kurmi community in Bihar is currently considered Nitish Kumar’s main vote bank. Nitish created his strong political hold in Bihar through the Kurmi-Koeri equation and with the help of it he has maintained his dominance for two decades. There was a time when RCP Singh was considered the second strongest leader of the JDU after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. People close to the RSP feel that after Nitish weakens, the RCP can establish itself as a great Kurmi leader. In this he may also get support from JDU workers, who feel abandoned due to the weakening of Nitish Kumar.

RCP Singh was avoiding saying anything against Nitish Kumar and the BJP for many days, but after spending two years in the political wilderness, he is now preparing to come out and form a new party. The slogan ‘Tiger is still alive’ is written on the hoardings put up by RCP Singh supporters in Patna. Apart from the formation of a new political party on Thursday, he was also aggressive towards Nitish but did not adopt a very strict attitude. Thus, by forming his own party, RCP Singh wants not only the JDU but also the BJP to realize his strength.

Who will suffer the most with the arrival of the new party?

Political analysts believe that Nitish Kumar’s party and the BJP will suffer more losses than the new RCP party and its candidates. In any case, the RCP is considered to have more influence among the same class that is traditional NDA supporters. The RCP had left the JDU and joined the BJP, but as soon as Nitish rejoined, the BJP left him in the political middle. That is why now the RSP is also forming a party to demonstrate its political strength.

The RCP’s relations with Nitish Kumar had deteriorated due to the BJP. RCP Singh had become part of Modi’s cabinet despite Nitish’s unwillingness, due to which he had to leave JDU. After parting ways with Nitish, the RCP also joined hands with the BJP, but later had to leave it too.

RCP Singh clearly says that he could not be used as much as he should be in the BJP. In such a situation, RCP Singh has formed a new party with the intention of consolidating Kurmi votes, but it is difficult to say how successful it will be, but one thing is certain: it will be seen making a dent in Kurmi. votes. If this happens, won’t the political road ahead be easy for JDU?
