Kartik Amavasya day is considered a very auspicious day to achieve salvation of the souls of ancestors and receive their blessings. This day is the best time to worship and offer offerings to the ancestors. He said that by pleasing the ancestors on this day, one can become free from Pitra Dosh. He said that by performing Havan, the blessings of Gods and Goddesses are obtained and the planetary defects of the human being are eliminated.
