Angry villagers took BSNL officials hostage due to lack of mobile network in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. The door near the tower was closed. The lock was opened after assurances from senior officials.
The villagers were very upset over the lack of BSNL signal in Pipaljhopa, a remote tribal area about 60 kilometers from the district headquarters. People’s patience, which was in trouble for almost a year, was broken when BSNL employees and some officials came to check the machines near the tower in Pipaljhopa.
The angry villagers closed the gate of the BSNL tower. The residents’ demand was that the tower was built and erected 12 months ago, but it became operational 6 months ago, but the signal reaches some mobile phones. The villagers rebuked the officials. The matter was calmed down after speaking to senior officials and getting assurances that the issue would be resolved within 10 days.
Consumer Manish Jaiswal says Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided a BSNL 4G facility in the village. The tower has been installed here, but there is no network on our mobile. Because of this, we cannot talk or call anywhere. The tower was installed 1 year ago and the mobile tower was started 6 months ago. But our problem is not being solved.
BSNL official Deepesh Rathore says we have made a parallel visit. Here there was great anger among the villagers. Villagers say that the network works properly only on a few mobiles. He says the network capability should also be available on other mobile phones. Discussions were held with senior officials in this regard. The issue was reported to officials in Bhopal and Indore. He said that this problem will be solved in the first week of November next month.
