(UtterPardesh News) Ghaziabad. On the occasion of Diwali, people launch fireworks. No one cared about the ban on firecrackers nor was anyone seen stopping people. Despite the ban, people break cookies. The arson fires kept firefighters working throughout the night. Fires broke out in 60 places in the district. Apart from fireworks, there are also reports of fires due to short circuits.

The biggest fire incident occurred in Indirapuram. Here a fire broke out due to a short circuit in a two-storey footwear showroom in Gyan Khand-3. The fire that broke out in the store also affected an apartment. The firefighters came after receiving information and risked their lives to rescue the people trapped in the apartment. In addition, surrounding homes were also evacuated as a precaution. More than half a dozen firefighters managed to control the fire after hours of hard work. Sparks from firecrackers caused a fire at the Krishna Vista Society in Indirapuram, although the incident could not have been larger as it occurred in a park. A fire broke out in a factory in Rajendra Nagar industrial area. Firefighters controlled the fire by throwing water into the factory through fans.

A fire broke out in an apartment in GH-7 Society of Crossing Republic Township. Locals had started fire control and rescue measures, firefighters reached the spot after getting information and controlled the fire by throwing water. The losses due to the fire in the apartment are estimated to run into thousands of rupees. With the help of the Crossing Republic Police Station, fire personnel safely evacuated people living in nearby apartments. In Shastri Nagar area, a spark from a firecracker fell on a car parked on the road. Soon the fire completely engulfed the vehicle. Apart from this, an incident of fire caused by a lamp at Durga jewelery store in Chaupla Mandir market came to light. There were sporadic incidents of fires across the district, although no casualties were reported.

Firefighters were deployed to 14 locations

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rahul Pal said that for safe completion of Diwali festival and fire safety, the fire department has alerted all available resources and employees at all fire stations, Kotwali fire stations , Sahibabad, Vaishali, Modinagar, Loni. Keeping it on, fire units were deployed to 14 other locations. Firefighters units were deployed at Atal Chowk Vasundhara, Kala Patthar Indirapuram, Thana Khoda Farrukhnagar, Shani Chowk Lajpat Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Crossing Republic, Old Bus Stand, Rajnagar Extension, Chowpla Ghantaghar, Raj Chowpla Modinagar, Muradnagar, Loni, Tiraha and DLF Colony. And as soon as the information was received, they reached the spot and carried out relief work.

Maximum 21 fire incidents in Vaishali area

The CFO said a total of 60 fire incidents were reported at fire stations in the district. In which information was received about 21 incidents of fire in Vaishali area, 17 in Kotwali area, one in Modinagar area, seven in Loni area and 14 in Sahibabad area. The fire police acted quickly, reached there immediately and brought them under control, saving the lives of people affected by the fire and saving properties worth millions of rupees. There was no loss of life in the district.
