Just before the announcement of the manifesto for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, the Congress has entered the question circle. The question is whether Congress asks for votes by promising more than the budget. Let us tell you that this question is being raised after Mallikarjun Kharge stopped his own party’s government on this issue following Deputy CM Shivkumar’s statement to reconsider the Shakti scheme in Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has attacked the Congress-ruled state governments. However, after this Congress, President Kharge also retaliated. Now the tweet war between Congress and BJP has started.

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress-ruled state governments, Congress chief ministers, including party president Kharge, retaliated by listing their achievements and attacked the BJP’s central and state governments.

In fact, while posting on social media site The Prime Minister wrote on Twitter that the Congress is well aware that it is easy to make false promises but difficult or impossible to implement them properly. They make promises to people that even they know they can never keep. Now Congress has been seriously exposed to the people. Prime Minister Modi termed the assurances given by the Congress during the elections as a betrayal of the public.

Tagging Prime Minister Modi as ‘X’, Congress president Kharge said the identity of the central government has become a lie and propaganda. He said all the promises made by the government have now turned out to be empty. He asked that Prime Minister Modi had promised 2 million jobs every year, but the unemployment rate in India is at the highest level in 45 years. Kharge said that due to the leak of documents the dreams of the youth are being shattered. The general public suffers from inflation.

Apart from this, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also responded to PM Modi through a social media post. In this he has enumerated the achievements of his government. Addressing Prime Minister Modi, the Chief Minister wrote that the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh is firmly dedicated to fulfilling promises and promoting inclusive development across the state. We are proud to have already fulfilled five of the 10 guarantees made during the 2022 assembly elections.

What have we achieved?

CM Sukhu wrote that we have restored the old pension scheme (OPS) for state employees. A monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 is guaranteed for eligible women. English medium education was started from class 1. It launched an initial fund of Rs 680 million to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the state. Himachal became the first state to implement MSP for milk. The price was fixed at Rs 45 per liter for cow milk and Rs 55 per liter for buffalo milk.

He said that before Diwali, we distributed salaries and pensions on October 28 and increased dearness allowance for government employees by 11 per cent in just 22 months of government. Through systemic change initiatives, we are working towards self-sufficiency despite the difficult financial situation. Loans worth Rs 75,000 crore inherited from the previous BJP government and Rs 23,000 crore from the central government are still pending.

In just one year, our government boosted the state’s economy by 20 per cent, generating additional revenue of Rs 2,200 crore. Our vision is to make Himachal Pradesh self-reliant by 2027 and the most prosperous state in India by 2032 and create an empowering and opportunity-rich environment for every individual in Himachal Pradesh and we are working every day to turn this vision into reality.

While former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel investigated X and wrote: Prime Minister! I am sure some unknown BJP leader in Chhattisgarh has misled him. The people of Chhattisgarh still remember the Congress government as the one that did everything we had promised.

Listing out his achievements, Bhupesh Baghel wrote that within two hours of taking oath, we had waived off farmers’ loans. The price of paddy was fixed at Rs 2,500 per quintal. Electricity bill reduced by half by 400 units. The unemployed youth received Rs 2,500 per month. Free medical care was provided up to Rs 20 lakh. Savings of up to 72 per cent were achieved on medicines at Dhanvantri Medical Shops. Apart from this, we are working to provide Rs 7,000 to landless agricultural workers. While Swami Atmanand provided free education in English medium public schools and in more than 700 schools. He said that Modi ji, when his government did not provide oxygen to Covid patients, it was the Chhattisgarh Congress government that supplied oxygen to many states. We started providing 3 months of free food grains to the poor during COVID-19, which was later adopted by your government.

Bhupesh Baghel said he should worry about his guarantee in Chhattisgarh, which is still incomplete. In this case, the gas cylinder will cost Rs 500 and promises to provide permanent jobs to those working on contract basis are incomplete. The Mahtari Vandan portal was closed a month after its launch.

He said he should tell people why the BJP government has started charging fees in Swami Atmanand schools. Why is the government withdrawing financial aid from these schools? Why did they close the stables and stop buying cow manure, a plan you had appreciated before? Why is the government not able to control law and order?

The Prime Minister should not indulge in petty politics and play this dirty game of blaming others for petty political gains. I still expect the same from you. Am I waiting too long?
