Rising loans, poverty and ‘Kalyug ka Kansa Mama’… Why did the helpless mother sell her son? The story will move you.

Innocent with his father.

A case that shames humanity has come to light in Araria district of Bihar. Here a family of workers asked for a loan from a financial company to raise their children. When the loan installments were not met, the financial agent began to threaten them, which scared the family. Frightened parents sold their one and a half year old son for 9,000 rupees. The boy’s uncle arranged the deal and kept the money himself. The person to whom the maternal uncle sold the child sold him to Bengaluru for Rs 2 lakh.

The villagers found out about the sale of the child. He donated Rs 9,000 to the boy’s maternal uncle and asked to return it. She was reluctant to give birth to the child. The matter reached the police through social networks. The police recovered the child with the help of an organization. However, no action has been taken yet in this regard.

He had taken a loan of Rs 50,000.

Rehana Khatoon, a resident of Pachira Panchayat ward number 6, had taken a loan of Rs 50,000 from a microfinance facility, in which she had deposited 3 to 4 installments. After that, he couldn’t pay the loan. The company’s agent went to the woman’s house every month to collect the loan installment. He used to threaten the woman loudly, so the entire family was worried. According to the family, the loan officer threatened to send them to jail if they could not repay the loan, after which the family became scared.

The boy’s maternal uncle made the deal.

The woman Rehana Khatoon discussed this matter with her parents. After which, the woman’s brother Tanveer spoke to Arif from Dumariya village. To which the boy’s maternal uncle explained that you have 8 children, sell one and he will grow up in a good home and then the debt will also be settled with the money. Following her brother’s words, the woman, following her husband’s advice, sold a child to Arif for Rs 9,000.

She appropriated the money herself to sell the child.

The boy’s aunt, Arsadi Khatoon, said the boy’s maternal uncle did not even give the family any money after closing the deal. He told the whole story to his villagers. They all donated together and after collecting 9 thousand rupees, she took her brother with her to Arif’s house to bring the children, but they were not given to him. Here, after 2 days of the incident, the matter reached the city with the help of social media. Information about which was received by an organization called Jagran Kalyan Bharti. People from the organization informed Forbesganj police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar about this.

Police recovered the boy

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the police station in-charge informed the Raniganj police station in-charge, Nirmal Kumar Yadvendu. After which the police station chief sent additional police station chief Kanaklata to investigate and the boy was found in Arif’s house. Arif said that the boy’s parents are poor, so he brought him to take care of the children. When the boy’s parents and aunt were called to the police station, they found out about the sale for Rs 9,000. The family did not even receive the money after selling the child. His maternal uncle kept all the money. Due to this matter, case number 1141/24 has been registered at the police station and the children have been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee. The Child Welfare Committee will decide who the child will now stay with.

The father is a daily wage laborer and earns between Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,000 a month.

The boy’s father, Aaron, is a laborer. Sometimes he gets work as a day laborer, sometimes he doesn’t. He barely earns Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000 a month. Apart from this, he has 8 children, of which 5 are boys and 3 are girls. One of them is a one and a half year old son, which he sold for 9,000 rupees. Arif, who bought the child, sold him in Bengaluru for Rs 2 lakh.

This is the reason why the boy’s maternal uncle had kept Rs 9,000 as commission and after receiving the money, he gave Rs 9,000 to the boy’s family. While only the fee of Rs 9,000 had to be paid to the family in the form of a loan. So far no action has been taken against anyone in this matter. A case has been registered at the police station and the children have been recovered.
