A shocking case of theft has come to light in Bhopal, capital of Madhya Pradesh, where the Shivalinga installed under a tree has been stolen.
The incident took place in Subhash Colony, located in Ashoka Garden police station area. According to the police, Dinesh, who lives here, worships the Shivalinga installed under the Peepal tree outside his house every day, but when he went to worship on Friday, the Shivalinga was not there. After this, the neighbors were informed about this and Shivalinga was searched in the vicinity. After searching for a long time, when the Shivalinga was not found, the police were informed.
People told the police that there is a gathering of anti-social elements near the tree at night and this could be a mischief on the part of one of them. Currently, the police have started investigating the matter by taking statements from people. Footage from nearby security cameras is also being analyzed.
A few months ago, a case of robbery in a temple in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, came to light. The Ashtadhatu idol was stolen here. It is said that three people had gone to the temple under the pretext of worshiping. After this they stole the idol of Ashtadhatu and started fleeing. During this time the villagers caught a thief. But his other two accomplices involved in the crime managed to escape.
