Most people buy new vehicles during festive seasons like Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali. This festive season has also been much better for the automobile sector. Most automobile companies have recorded tremendous growth in vehicle sales. The country’s capital, Delhi, has also hit a new record in vehicle purchases.
This time, on the occasion of festive season, people of Delhi have bought many cars. According to data from the Delhi Government’s Transport Department, more than 86,000 new vehicles have been registered with the department till October 30. Due to which, the department has received revenue of Rs 366 crore in the form of motor vehicle tax.
Most people bring new vehicles to their homes on the occasion of Diwali. According to the information, this time around 22,000 cars and SUVs (light motor vehicles) have been registered before Diwali. However, during the festival season, there has been a decline in sales of scooters and bicycles (two-wheeled vehicles) as compared to four-wheeled vehicles compared to last year. During this period, a total of 56,000 two-wheeled vehicles have been registered.

Talking about last year 2023, the Delhi Transport Department registered a total of 80,854 new vehicles during the festive season in the month of November. 18,635 passenger cars and SUVs were included, while 57,000 units of two-wheeled vehicles (scooters-motorcycles) were registered. This means that this time the number of two-wheelers has been less compared to last year.
