Noida, Raftaar today. The process of construction of elevated road on Noida’s Bhangel-Salarpur highway to ease traffic jams and provide faster traffic flow is in full swing. The construction of this road will not only solve the problems of the residents of the area but also facilitate connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida. Noida Authority officials have claimed that this elevated road will be fully operational by February 2025 and is expected to prove to be a great alternative to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
Widening of Bhangel road to Phase 2 will ease traffic jams.
According to Noida Authority, this elevated road under construction in Bhagel will extend from Sector 41 Agahpur to Phase 2 drainage. The main objective of this project is to eliminate frequent traffic jams on the Bhagel-Salarpur road and make this route more accessible to traffic. Travel from Sector 37 to Phase 2 will now be easy via this elevated road. This will greatly facilitate transportation to various places in Surajpur and Greater Noida.
85 percent of work completed, says authority: preparations to start traffic soon
About 85 per cent of the construction work of Bhangel Elevated Road has been completed. Work on installing beams and connecting roads at the Sector-49 junction has also been completed recently. Currently, the remaining construction work near Bhangel area is progressing at a rapid pace and will be completed by February-March 2025. Noida authorities say all preparations are being finalized to restart traffic at the earliest.
Delay in the circuit construction process, tenders will be published soon
The construction of loops on the elevated road is also part of the authority’s plans. Two loops each will be made at the intersection of Sector-49-107, so that people traveling from seven sectors X can have convenience. Apart from this, there will also be a loop from Sector 37 near Hanuman Murti, through which passengers can head towards Seven. Although there has been a delay in the construction of the circuits, the authority said the bidding process will begin next month.
Change in width, 90 meters reduced by half a meter due to some homes.
Some houses were hindering the construction of this elevated road. Initially it was decided to demolish these houses, but then an agreement was reached with the owners and the width of the street was slightly modified. Due to this, the width of the elevated road has been reduced by half a meter in a 90-meter section. This amendment has been approved by IIT Roorkee, so there will be no hindrance in the construction work.
Dispute between bridge corporation and authority over construction cost, cost increased
The dispute between Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation and Noida Authority regarding the rising cost of this elevated road project continues. At the time of contract, the estimated cost of this project remained at Rs 468 crore (32 lakh), which has now increased to Rs 608 crore. The bridge company has demanded this cost increase, but officials say the cost increase is being discussed and a solution will be found.
Pressure on Greater Noida Expressway will be reduced and people traveling from Delhi will get relief
Due to increasing traffic pressure on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, the problem of traffic jam persists. With the construction of this elevated road, an alternative to the expressway will be created, through which passengers coming from Kalindi Kunj, DND and Chilla Border of Delhi will be able to use this elevated road. Passengers will be able to easily reach Noida and Greater Noida through this route via Mahamaya flyover via Sector-37 flyover.
A Noida official said: “The elevated road works are progressing at a good pace. The effort should be completed in February and a tender for the construction of the circuits will be launched soon. It will be broadcast.”
