A family from Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh has created a new record in bureaucracy. Two members of the same family have held the position of Chief Secretary in different states of the country. Now the third member has also been appointed as the Chief Secretary of the State. Such examples will rarely be seen in the IAS cadre. In fact, two sons of Gaya Prasad Tiwari from Mahoba district have already been chief secretaries in different states. Now his daughter-in-law Alka Tiwari has also been appointed as principal secretary.
Third family member becomes chief secretary
In fact, the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language announced the appointment of 1988 batch senior IAS officer Alka Tiwari as Jharkhand Chief Secretary on November 1. In such a situation, she has been appointed as the third chief secretary of the same family. Let us tell you that Rajendra Kumar Tiwari, son of Gaya Prasad Tiwari, has been the Chief Secretary of a big and powerful state like Uttar Pradesh. His brother Devendra Kumar Tiwari has also been chief secretary of Jharkhand. He is currently the State Electoral Commissioner. While the third and youngest brother, Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari, is the additional chief secretary in Punjab cadre. He is also included in the queue of Chief Secretary.
The mandate will end in September 2025.
Let us tell you that Jharkhand Chief Secretary L. Khiangte’s tenure ended on October 31. In such a situation, after her retirement, Alka Tiwari has been appointed as the chief secretary of the state. His term will last until September 30, 2025, that is, 11 months. Before the appointment of the chief secretary, Alka Tiwari was working as a member of the Board of Revenue. Till now, she has worked as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Union Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers as well as Secretary of the Tribal Commission. Apart from this, she has also been district collector of Lohardaga and Gumla.
