The Central Government on Friday said that on the first day of the special campaign launched to promote Digital Life Certificate, more than 1.8 lakh pensioners got their Digital Life Certificate. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has launched the third national Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign, which will be held from November 1 to 30 in 800 cities and districts across the country.
“This is the largest DLC campaign ever carried out,” said a statement issued by the Ministry of Personnel. A total of 1.81 lakh DLCs have been created as of Friday night. The goal of the campaign is to promote facial authentication technology. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will provide technical support during the campaign.
“Facial authentication has been made more intuitive and convenient for older retirees and can be used on both Android and iOS,” the statement said. The statement said that this campaign is being carried out in collaboration with Pension Disbursing Banks, Post Payment Bank of India, Pensioners Welfare Associations, Comptroller General of Defense Accounts (CGDA), Department of Telecommunications (DOT), Railways, UIDAI and the Ministry of Electronics and Information. Technology, which aims to reach all pensioners who live in remote corners of the country.
