Woman’s nose cut off for 15 rupees

If you don’t believe it, you can see it in Araria district of Bihar. Here on Friday in Samaul Haat of Tiraskund Panchayat, a shopkeeper cut off the nose of a woman who lived in the neighbourhood. The accused committed this offense simply because he did not repay the loan of Rs 15. On receiving the information, the police opened a case against the accused shopkeeper and his son.
The woman injured in this incident has been identified as Bulbul Khatoon (25 years), a resident of Tiraskund Samaul. He is currently admitted to the hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Bulbul’s husband Mohammad Imtiaz and mother Asmeena Khatoon said in the complaint filed with the police that they had sent their daughter to the neighboring shop to buy some goods. There was already a debt of 15 rupees, so the shopkeeper and his son started fighting with his daughter.

His daughter tried to assure the defendant that the loan would be repaid this month, but the defendant began attacking her. Meanwhile, the merchant hit his daughter on the nose with an axe. After this incident, the accused closed the business and fled the scene. Here, her daughter fell to the ground soaked in blood and began to writhe in pain. Upon receiving information from nearby people, they took their daughter to the hospital, where doctors admitted her considering her condition.

On receiving the information, the police also reached the spot and after taking her daughter’s statement, registered a case. According to Forbesganj police station in-charge Raghavendra Kumar Singh, the police are investigating the matter. The accused remain at large, so the search for them has intensified. On the other hand, the doctors who treated the injured woman said that due to the cut on her nose there was a lot of blood loss. The broken nose will have to be repaired. In such a situation, the wound may take some time to heal.
