Police raided a three-star hotel in Meerut and arrested 8 people, including the owner. FIR has been registered against a total of 15 people. According to the police, the hotels allowed the rich to gamble in casinos where liquor parties were also organized. The raid was carried out on the basis of intelligence information and during the raid the police were kept away from the local police station. Please let us know what else has been revealed in this incident?
It is said that so that no one would find out, people who bet at the casino arrived at the hotel from home empty-handed. They would simply pay the entrance fee and sit at the table. After that, they would take chips and coins from the counter and start betting. The amount of these coins and tokens was credited to your account. After victory or defeat, people deposited their chips and payment was made on this basis the next day.
In general, cash was not used. Coins and tokens were used as cash. For this reason, a huge amount of money was not recovered during the raid.
If sources are to be believed, a large table was decorated in the casino inside the hotel and the girls used to serve liquor on that table. Here the rich used to place bets in addition to spilling the jam. This board could only be accessed after paying an entry fee of one lakh.
The raid was carried out without informing local police.
When senior officers of Meerut police got concrete information about the functioning of a casino in the hotel, they formed teams to conduct a raid. But the three police stations of Civil Line Circle were not included in it. Nauchandi police station was also called at the last moment. However, officials denied such a thing and said police were called from all police stations in the area. But the Civil Line CO was not seen there at the time of the raid.
The hotel owner has served as BJP municipal treasurer.
Actually, this ‘Harmony Inn Hotel’ belongs to Naveen Arora. Naveen Arora previously held the post of BJP municipal treasurer. Apart from Naveen, many other people have interests in this hotel. It is assumed that casinos were operated here illegally. On Monday night many famous families from the city and surrounding districts came to the hotel to play in the casino.
When the police officers got information about this, they carried out a raid with a team of three police officers from different circles of Meerut without involving the police from the local Nauchandi police station. In this raid, eight people, including hotel owner Naveen Arora, were arrested from the spot. The girls were also present at the hotel. Playing materials, etc. were recovered from the scene.
