In Bihar, rebellion is seen in the National Democratic Alliance regarding the Tirhut Legislative Council by-election. For this by-election, the seat has gone to the JDU quota within the NDA. By-elections are being held in this seat after former JDU legislative councilor Devesh Chandra Thakur became MP from Sitamarhi. JDU has named Abhishek Jha as its NDA quota candidate for the Tirhut Legislative Council by-election.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Rakesh Roshan has announced that he will contest the elections for this seat. Considering this as an anti-party activity, LJPRV issued a show-cause notice to state vice-president Rakesh Roshan and sought his response within two days. Rakesh Roshan, who decided to contest the Tirhut Legislative Council by-election, responded to LJPRV’s show cause notice by resigning from the party.

He has sent his resignation to the party’s national president, Chirag Paswan. Chirag Paswan’s party is in the NDA with JDU and BJP. Now Rakesh Roshan is in the mood to contest the Tirhut Legislative Council by-election as an independent. In such a situation, an interesting fight between JDU, RJD and Rakesh Roshan is certain. On behalf of the Grand Alliance, RJD has chosen Gopi Kishan as its candidate from here. We tell them that apart from Congress and RJD, Left parties are also included in the grand alliance.
Rakesh Roshan had contested the 2020 Raghopur Assembly elections from LJPRV. Rakesh Roshan, who fought against opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, got around 25,000 votes. He is the son of late Brijnathi Singh, a big name in north Bihar politics and has been associated with LJP since his student days. Speaking to the media after resigning, he said, ‘In the last Lok Sabha elections, our brother (Chirag Paswan) had promised us a Vaishali candidature. We had prepared to participate in the elections, but we did not get the ballot. Now we have made preparations and are going to participate in the elections. There is public pressure.
