The air quality here has increased to very poor, i.e. dangerous, levels. Due to this, the health of residents, especially children, is being greatly affected. At the same time, Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb highlighted the need to prioritize the health and safety of students amid this crisis.

Keep the child inside the house – Maryam

Pakistan’s air quality reports show that Lahore consistently ranks among the most polluted cities in the world. Due to this, the authorities have to take immediate measures in this regard. Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has urged parents to keep children at home during this period due to deteriorating air levels.

He urged parents and caregivers to take necessary precautions during this period. Emphasis has been placed on taking necessary measures, especially for young children. Like wearing a mask when going out. The minister also said that the government is working closely with the Department of Environmental Protection to monitor the situation and implement measures to combat smog.

“Closing schools is a temporary measure”

Maryam Aurangzeb further said that the closure of schools is a temporary measure due to deteriorating air quality and smog conditions. Its purpose is to protect the well-being of elementary students. While the government is trying to reduce the increasing level of pollution. At the same time, due to the worsening smog situation, the provincial government has declared it a “smog disaster”.
