Bus accident in Uttarakhand (Aaj Samaj), Nainital: A tragic accident occurred in Almora, Uttarakhand on Monday morning when a bus full of passengers fell into a ditch. 38 people on board a bus going from Naini Danda to Ramnagar fell on the banks of the Geet Jagir river. While it is said that many people were injured. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment. It is feared that the death toll could rise.

There were more than 55 passengers on board.

According to information received from the police, the bus was carrying passengers from Nainidanda’s Kinath. The bus was going to Ramnagar. The bus had 42 seats. There were more than 55 passengers on the bus. After the accident, some passengers left the bus. Some people scattered and fell. Only the wounded passed the information on to others. Relief and rescue work is being carried out at the site. Work is underway to transfer the injured to hospital. The SSP Almora has also rushed to the spot, the Sal Police has reached the spot and a team from the ADRF has also been sent.

CM Dhami expressed grief over the accident

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences to the people who died in the bus accident in Almora. The Chief Minister said that this accident is very sad. May God give peace to the souls of the deceased and strength to their families to endure this loss. Apart from this, the CM spoke over phone with Secretary Disaster Management, Kumaon Divisional Commissioner and DM Almora and gave instructions to carry out rescue and relief work promptly. The CM has also said that if necessary, there should be no delay in air transportation of seriously injured passengers.
