Bombay Assembly elections will be held in Maharashtra this month. Ahead of these elections, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale denied reports of dispute in the ruling Mahayuti over Mahim assembly constituency in Mumbai. Shiv Sena candidate Sada Sarvankar will take on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Amit Thackeray in this seat. The RPI-A chief has described three-time MLA Sarvankar as a stronger candidate than Amit Thackeray. Let us tell you that Amit Thackeray is the son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray.
RPI(A) is an ally of Mahayuti, which also includes BJP, NCP and Shiv Sena. This is the first election for Raj Thackeray’s son Amit Thackeray while Sarvankar is again contesting from the Mahim seat. The Shiv Sena leader assured that he will not back down from the elections. The BJP has expressed its willingness to support the MNS candidate. Ramdas Athawale said Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial and Indu Mill come under Mahim constituency. I don’t think it is right to put pressure on Saravankar. He is the current MLA there and a stronger candidate than Amit Thackeray. He declined to comment on the BJP’s support for the MNS candidate. The RPI(A) chief said Saravankar was Mahayuti’s official candidate. Amit Thackeray has not done anything for this area yet. His only qualification is that he is Raj Thackeray’s son. He has just entered politics, he has to go further in the future.
