As the days of the Maharashtra Assembly elections approach, voices of leaders switching parties and rebelling have begun to emerge. Its impact is being seen not only in the ruling Mahayuti alliance but also in the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance. Recently, while Union Home Minister Amit Shah had instructed the ruling alliance leaders that no rebel should contest the elections, now Maha Vikas Aghadi allies Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray have warned to the rebels.

Today is the last day for withdrawal of nominations in Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders held a press conference in Mumbai, in which NCP-SP Sharad Pawar said that this is not a friendly fight in Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The rebels will have to withdraw their candidacy. Congress is trying it with us too.

Action against those who do not withdraw their nomination: Uddhav

Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray said, “After 3 pm, the picture will be clear as to who has withdrawn nominations and who has not. Action will be taken against those who do not withdraw.” Meanwhile, Shiv Sena-UBT Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said, “In the meeting it was decided that no rebel should remain in the field. Many rebels have withdrawn their requests calling Pawar Saheb and Uddhav Saheb.”

Decision to unwelcome DGP: Sharad Pawar

At the same time, Sharad Pawar termed the decision to remove the Maharashtra DGP as welcome. He said it was not right to grant an extension to an official against whom many accusations were leveled. We welcome the decision of the Electoral Commission. We inform you that many opposition parties have complained to the Election Commission regarding this matter, following which the Election Commission has given this order. Apart from this, instead of Maharashtra DGP Rashmi Shukla, the chief secretary has now been directed to hand over her charge to the next senior IPS officer in the cadre.
