The Uttar Pradesh government approved 27 proposals in the cabinet meeting held on Monday, which also includes the Aided College Principals Transfer Rules 2024. In the new rules, the process of transfer of teachers has been made easy and transparent. The five-year minimum service requirement for university transfer has been reduced to three years.
According to UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna and Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev, who attended the cabinet meeting, an important decision has been taken regarding transfer of teachers from aided universities. Uttar Pradesh Aided College Teachers Transfer Rules 2024 for Higher Education Department approved. The minimum period of stay at the university has been reduced from five to three years. Furthermore, the amendment to the UP Private Universities Act, 2019 has been given a green signal.
Teacher transfer process at UP
There is also a provision in the new rules that teachers will be entitled to transfer only once during their entire period of service. It is believed that female teachers will especially benefit from this. As per the new norms, the transfer application will be submitted through the management of the concerned undergraduate college, which will be approved by the concerned university. After the consent of the management, the application can be sent to the Director of Higher Education. This will provide transparency and clarity in the transfer. Furthermore, unnecessary delays can also be avoided.
Approved Yoga Center in Baghpat
The proposal to establish an International Yoga and Health Center in Baghpat district was approved in the cabinet meeting. Free transfer of 1,069 hectares of land in Hariyakhewa village of Baghpat tehsil to the Tourism Department has been approved. To preserve the heritage buildings of the state, the proposal to develop them through Public Private Partnership received green signal from the Cabinet.
