But very soon this wait is going to end because Royal Enfield has made its official entry into the electric vehicle segment today.
Royal Enfield has introduced a wide range of its first electric bikes even before the start of the motor show (EICMA 2024) which will be held in the city of Milan, Italy, this evening. To do this, the company has created a new subsidiary which it has called ‘Flying Flea’. In this regard, the company has presented the ‘C6’ model as its first electric bicycle.
The name of this electric vehicle subsidiary of Royal Enfield is inspired by the very old Flying-Flea model introduced by the company in the 1940s. After this new Royal Enfield electric bicycle is launched in the Indian market, it will start a new segment . Its appearance and design is completely different from that of any conventional motorcycle.
What is Flying Flea C6 like?
The C6 is Flying Flea’s first offering and is an all-new electric bike. Although its style has a retro touch, the company has equipped it with cutting-edge technology. The C6’s silhouette resembles a low-slung bobber motorcycle with a sloping front end and single saddle.
A very unique feature of the Flying Flea C6 is that it uses a beam-style front fork for suspension duties, something not seen on current motorcycles. The C6’s frame is made of forged aluminum, which is not common in the budget EV market. The company has also included a premium touchscreen TFT dashboard in this bike. New switches, all-LED lighting and a completely different headlight have been provided to the Royal Enfield line-up.
The company has not yet provided any information on the powertrain, specifications or range. Disc brake is provided at the front and rear. The company says that this electric bike has been designed for urban areas. In it you can see the fine CEAT tires, obviously being an electric bicycle, these will act as a better support for it.
The model presented by the company is single-seat (seating arrangement for one person). But the company will also offer it with a passenger seat as an option. While the C6 was the only model displayed at the event, Flying Flea also released a preview of a future model, the S6 Electric Scrambler.
