A surprising case has come to light from Saudi Arabia. Parts of Saudi Arabia, normally known for its desert, are witnessing heavy rain and snowfall for the first time in history. The Al-Jouf region reportedly received heavy snowfall recently, creating a winter wonderland in the country, generally known for its dry climate. This unprecedented snowfall followed a series of heavy rains and hailstorms that began in the region.
The locals were surprised
It is said that when the people of the Al-Jouf area woke up in the morning, they saw a surprising sight of white snow. The Saudi Press Agency highlighted that not only snowfall occurred here, but also waterfalls were formed that revived the valleys and filled the area with life. This wintry view marks a change as the country enters winter, giving way to the beautiful spring season for which Al-Jouf is famous.
The weather will be bad in the next few days.
However, the Saudi Meteorological Department has issued warnings that the bad weather will continue in the coming days. Residents of Al-Jouf can also expect storms in most parts. According to forecasts, visibility may be reduced due to new heavy rain and hail. There is also a possibility of strong winds with these storms, so authorities have been advised to exercise caution.
This is the first time such an incident has occurred.
Let us tell you that Saudi Arabia is not the only country experiencing unusual weather patterns. Previously, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also suffered similar climate changes. On October 14, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) of the United Arab Emirates issued an alert regarding the possibility of expected rain, storm surge and hail in several areas. The UAE Meteorological Department has attributed these changes to low pressure systems extending from the Arabian Sea towards Oman, which has affected weather conditions across the region.
climate change
This unpredictable winter weather highlights evolving weather patterns in the Middle East, where even the driest regions can experience significant changes. Snowfall in Al-Jawf not only adds a unique chapter to the kingdom’s climatic history, but also offers residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty of winter landscapes rarely seen in this part of the world.
