Sanjay Verma has been appointed as the new Director General of Maharashtra Police by the Central Election Commission. Earlier, the Election Commission had removed Attorney General Rashmi Shukla, taking into account the Congress Party’s complaint. We inform you that elections will be held in Maharashtra on November 20. Rashmi Shukla was the first woman DGP of the state. Against whom many parties, including the Congress, had filed a complaint with the Election Commission.

At the same time, following the dismissal of Director General Rashmi Shukla, the Election Commission had sought the names of senior officials. In which the names of Sanjay Verma, Sanjeev Kumar Singhal and his bandmate Ritesh Kumar were given to the Commission. At the same time, the Commission had assigned the additional charge of DGP to 1989 batch IPS officer Phansalkar. In such a situation, the DGP has now been appointed in the state.

Let us tell you that IPS Sanjay Verma is a 1990 batch police officer. He is currently working as DG Law and Technology in Maharashtra. He will retire from retired police service in April 2028. In fact, the names of IPS officers whose names were in the news for the post of Maharashtra DGP over the last few days were included in the list of senior officers.
