1 The Supreme Court has upheld the constitutional validity of the ‘Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Act, 2004’. The court said this does not violate the principle of secularism. The Allahabad High Court erred in holding that the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Act would have to be struck down because it violates the basic structure, i.e. the principle of secularism.
