Three Bangladeshis who infiltrated India are returned

Three Bangladeshi nationals, including two women, who were entering Assam from the Assam-Bangladesh border, have been returned. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a post on social media site ‘Has Given’. However, he did not say through which place or area the foreigners tried to infiltrate India.

Three Bangladeshis infiltrated Assam

Karimganj, Cachar, Dhubri and South Salmara-Mankachar districts of Assam share a 267.5 km long international border with Bangladesh. “Our security forces are maintaining close vigil to thwart all infiltration attempts,” the Chief Minister said. We inform you that on Sunday also a person who was trying to infiltrate was sent back to Bangladesh. On Sunday, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said the Bangladeshi national was captured while trying to illegally infiltrate Karimganj district and was sent back to the neighboring country.

Sarma tweeted: “Bangladeshi infiltrator Mohibullah was arrested near the international border and sent across the border at Karimganj.” He further said that our Assam Police and Border Security Force remain alert round the clock to thwart all infiltration attempts at the border. Our team did a great job. There is an integrated check post at Sutarakandi in Karimganj. There are a total of three PCIs in the northeast, of which two are located at Dawki in Meghalaya and Akhaura in Tripura.
