Mukesh Khanna played the role of Gangadhar and his action avatar Shaktimaan in the 1997 television show ‘Shaktimaan’. After this, a few years ago it was announced that preparations were being made to make a film on Shaktimaan. For this, the creators had joined hands with Sony Pictures. It was said that actor Ranveer Singh can play the role of superhero Shaktimaan. However, this has not yet been confirmed. Now actress Vaishnavi Macdonald has spoken about this.
Vaishnavi spoke about Ranveer’s work in Shaktiman
In an interview given to The Lallantop, Vaishnavi MacDonald said that the film ‘Shaktimaan’ has been in the works for the past few years. He was asked that in 2016-17, Mukesh Khanna had announced that Shaktimaan would return. It will be built on a very large level. A project started with Sony. It was then said that Ranveer Singh would be in it.
On this, Vaishnavi McDonald said, ‘I am talking only about 2016-17, I was called for Shaktimaan. And then that project was made into a movie. That film has also been in the works for a long time. This was from Ranveer Singh, many meetings also took place with him. This has also been in the news, so it is not hidden from anyone. His (Mukesh Khanna) opinion is that no, he doesn’t think Ranveer Singh is suitable for this role. He feels that Shaktimaan’s personal character should also reflect his on-screen character. This is what they believe.
Vaishnavi further said, ‘And in a way, let me tell you, I am not on anyone’s side… I like Ranveer Singh, I am his fan.’ His acting is good and he fits any role. He is one of my favorite actors. But what I want to say is that what is Mukesh ji’s point of view in this matter is that nowadays there is a very fine line between social media, personal life and professional life. So you are what you reflect and all these things are reflected in your personality. So he (Mukesh Khanna) wants to say that someone should be like he was. Mukesh Khanna met Ranveer
In May 2024, Mukesh Khanna also met Ranveer Singh regarding working on the film ‘Shaktimaan’. After the meeting, the senior actor also praised Ranveer. However, the next day he announced that he had not cast Ranveer Singh for the superhero role. Mukesh Khanna had also shared a video related to this on Instagram, in which he told about his meeting with Ranveer Singh and his work in the film ‘Shaktimaan’.
In the video, Mukesh Khanna had said, ‘Ranveer Singh came to meet me. Within two to three hours of sharing this video, the video started appearing on all news channels that Ranveer Singh had come to convince Mukesh ji. Mukesh ji said that Ranveer Singh has a very dynamic personality and there is no other actor in the industry with more energy than him. Let me tell you, I’ve said all this. But I didn’t say anywhere that I am going to play the role of Shaktimaan. make a point.’
Mukesh Khanna had opposed Ranveer
In the year 2022, Sony Pictures had announced the movie ‘Shaktiman’ through a video. If reports are to be believed, this will be a big budget film, which will be made on a budget of Rs 200-300 crore. Ranveer Singh was believed to play the role of superhero Shaktimaan in this film. However, in March this year, Mukesh Khanna opposed Ranveer becoming Shaktimaan. He had said that despite star power, Ranveer can never become Shaktiman. Expressing her opposition to Ranveer’s nude photoshoot, she also called it childish.
