Madhya Pradesh by-elections: Today Digvijay Singh will roar in Budhni and tomorrow Sachin Pilot will go to Vijaypur.

Congress leader Digvijay Singh.

Following the announcement of the dates of by-elections for Budhni and Vijaypur seats in Madhya Pradesh, political parties have started campaigning. Big Congress leaders have also started campaigning. Former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh will take part in 10 street meetings in different areas of Budhni today. On the other hand, Congress has summoned Sachin Pilot to Vijaypur tomorrow to attract Gurjar voters.

Sachin Pilot will unveil the statue of Gurjar leader and former MP Tarachand Patel at the start of his election tour. After which he will leave Barwah for Vijaypur at around 12:15 pm and address a public meeting at Karahal in Vijaypur at 2:45 pm.

Former CM Kamal Nath took aim at BJP

Tough competition is seen in both seats in the by-elections. The Election Commission has announced the date of by-elections for these seats along with elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The Budhni seat fell vacant after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan became MP, while the Vijaypur seat fell vacant after Congress leader Ramniwas Rawat joined the BJP. The Commission has set the voting date for November 13 and the declaration of results for November 23. The Congress has become fully active regarding the Budhni by-elections.

To storm the former BJP Chief Minister’s stronghold, senior Congress leaders Digvijay Singh and Kamal Nath have started campaigning. In his speech, Kamal Nath fiercely attacked the BJP government and criticized the Shivraj government through schemes like cylinders for Rs 400.

Changes in the dates of these states.

The Election Commission also changed the dates of the assembly by-elections to be held in UP, Punjab and Kerala. Now voting for 14 assembly seats in these three states will be held on November 20 instead of November 13, while the results will be announced only on November 23. The Commission has made this change on the request of the BJP, Congress, RLD and BSP, because due to Guru Nanak Devji’s Kartik Purnima and Prakash Parv on November 15, the voting could be affected.
