Ambala News: Ambala. Under the drug-free Haryana campaign, students are being sensitized to stay away from drugs by conducting a continuous anti-drug drive in Ambala Cantonment. These programs are continuously carried out under the directives and guidance of the Chief Director General of Police Bureau, OP Singh Saheb, and the leadership of Superintendent of Police Pankhuri Kumar. Sub-Inspector/Awareness and Rehabilitation Program Officer of the Office, Dr. Ashok Kumar Verma, had reached Ambala Cantonment on a bicycle like every day. Organized the 78th one-day anti-drug awareness program at Ambala Canton Government Higher Secondary School. While raising awareness among students to stay away from drugs, Dr Ashok Kumar Verma said that the first task of drug free Haryana campaign by the Bureau and Police is to put criminals behind bars.
In this series, in 2023, Haryana Bureau and Police filed 3,823 cases and 5,460 drug peddlers were sent behind bars. Also this year, up to November 3, 2,831 cases were registered and 4,178 criminals involved in drug trafficking were imprisoned. In the drug-free campaign, the second task is to create awareness so that no person gets trapped in this quagmire of ignorance, greed and any other temptation. That is why the Office motivates young people every day to stay away from drugs, stating that drug addiction is an evil. Leave the addiction and connect with life.
