Umar Ahmed, the eldest son of mafia Atiq Ahmed, accused of demanding extortion of Rs 5 million from the builder, has not got relief from the district court. The court has rejected his bail application. Session Judge Santosh Rai passed this order after hearing arguments from both sides. Umar is currently lodged in Lucknow jail in Uttar Pradesh. In this case, Umar had sought bail pleading innocence, but the court rejected it.
A builder named Mohammad Muslim from Prayagraj had filed an extortion case against Umar Ahmed at Khuldabad police station. According to the prosecution, in 2021-22, builder Asad Kalia, Nusrat, Ali Ahmed, Omar’s gunner Ehtisham Karim etc. forced him to sit in Chakia Tirahe’s car and took him to the mafia office. During this, they demanded 5 million rupees from the builder and also tortured him a lot.

Apart from this, the builder was also threatened to transfer the Devghach land to Umar and Ali. He tried to kill him by strangling him with a belt. In this case, two people, Asad Kalia and Nusrat, are out on bail. The prosecution told the court that accused Umar has two criminal convictions and gangster action has also been taken against him.

Charges framed in kidnapping and extortion case
Earlier, the Prayagraj District Court had filed charges against Umar and Ali and two other accused in the extortion and kidnapping for ransom case. During the hearing held on October 31, both brothers appeared connected online. Both had argued that a case had been filed for implicating them in a political conspiracy. He had said that after proper investigation comes out, the truth will be revealed to everyone. The court read the charges to all defendants and ordered witnesses to appear at the next hearing.
